Autism Print - Love you to Puzzle Pieces

Yes.  It's me.  Again. :)

Today is April 2nd.  Did you know that?

Well did you know that it is National Autism Awareness Day?

And April is Autism Awareness month?

In case you weren't sure.

This is what Autism looks like.
And I'm so blessed to be his mom! :)

{Give credit where credit is due -- I heard that from Char today on Twitter...You know Char -- from Crap I've Made.  Yup.  I just had to steal her line because I loved it.}

I have something for all of you who have a child with Autism or maybe you work with someone with Autism.  You can print it out - make it your background - write a special note with it.  Or print it on fabric (you can get packages of printable fabric at Joann's or other craft stores) and just use some heat and bond to attach it to a canvas bag and give it to the fabulous teachers and therapists who help our kids SO much! {can you tell that's what I'm going to do?} :) {Hope Josh's therapists don't happen to read my blog.. well after this they can!!}
Love you to puzzle pieces
Just leave a comment - with your email address - and I will email you the pdf!

  1. SO, I realize totally not the same, but still a struggle. My son is A.D.D. It began affecting his school work and he was falling behind because of his inability to sit still, concentrate, and stay on task. It is still a battle, but we are working with him to help him so succeed. Sometimes it comes down to me literally having to sit right next to him and touch his shoulder every time his mind begins to wander. (that's our sign so I don't have to be constantly nagging him).

  3. My son was diagnosed with mild autism when he was 4. (I knew very early on, and he started getting therapy when he was 11 months old) He was such a struggle and I still get choked up talking about it.

    He also has tons of GI issues. We finally went to a GI doc when he was 6. An endoscopy diagnosed him with eczema cells on his esophogus. We took him off milk and a different child emerged. This past winter (he's 9 now) we reintroduced some of the foods he's allergic to and he regressed back terribly.

    I know its not the same as dealing with a child with autism every day. But those years where we struggled were so painful, I have a love and respect for those mothers who face it everyday.

  5. I love this and the fact you addressed this special month, I am a PROUD grandmother of a Autistic child (Vincent). His Mother (my daughter Samantha) made All her 5 children and husband a Autism Awareness T Shirt and they all wore them proudly to school and work. I am so proud of all our family and how we all lit our homes with Blue bulbs.
